Chaos in Cobb Superior Court Clerk's Office

Over the last four years, the Superior Court Clerk’s office has faced numerous challenges. These include controversies surrounding passport fee distribution, allegations of mishandling government funds, and an unprecedented backlog in indexing Civil and Criminal cases. These issues have raised concerns about the office’s transparency and accountability.

Furthermore, the current leadership’s significant lack of understanding has hindered the effective implementation of policies and procedures, resulting in a decline in functionality that has impacted its ability to efficiently serve the community. Additionally, the office’s struggle with staff retention due to inadequate human resources policies has further hindered its operations.

It is clear that the clerk’s office requires substantial reform and modernization to bring it in line with the demands of the 21st century. Our campaign is committed to addressing these issues head-on, pledging to restore accountability, transparency, and efficiency to the Cobb County Superior Court Clerk’s office. In December 2023, it came to light that the current Clerk of Superior Court was three months behind on indexing Civil and Criminal Cases, sparking outrage among local lawyers.
